Selling is Your Decision
Selling your company is a difficult decision. Make sure this a priority in your life, when you want to do it. Generally, errors often occur, when sellers begin the process of marketing that is not a priority. It is very obvious to the buyer. Unlike residential real estate transactions, there were few buyers for every business. If you give out the attack, it is unlikely they will return.
Information Gathering – In my opinion, is far more important aspect to increase the likelihood of your company’s sales for the par of the biggest and best terms. All you have to remember is when the buyer has cash and is in acquisition mode, they will find out whether the company really belongs to you or not.
You must prepare all corporate information in a timely, organized and professional, for buyers who will come.
Conversely, if you take a long time in presenting the information they need, then the company will look disorganized. Why should buy a company that does not irregular? They will think, if there are problems on the surface it would be much lower.
As you know, 90% of the iceberg is under water. The buyers want to learn everything in a short time, should not make it seem difficult for them. Give information in an organized and quick, if they want to see certain information.
Is a full time job for you to actively seek, qualify and communicate. If you run your business, you have to keep doing this, and hired an agent for the merger and acquisition professional to sell or merge the company. As the task in life, the more you do, the better you can. During the past 10 years, I have been involved in approximately 120 merger and acquisition transactions, and have seen the person across the table, make the same mistake again and again. Errors that should be paid handsomely, hundreds of thousands of dollars. There is so much money at stake, and no second chances.
